Appling Healthcare would like to inform the public that they have begun a pre-screening process for all emergency room visits. This will determine whether the patient’s needs is an emergency or a non-emergency. If it’s a non-emergency, the patient will have the option of paying upfront for further treatment or being referred to a primary care provider.
This decision is a result of insurance companies denying claims and loss of reimbursement from medicaid and other government programs.
CEO Ray Leadbetter estimates that Appling Healthcare loses between four and five million dollars annually due to bad debts from the emergency department.
Appling Healthcare strives to provide quality care in the most effective and efficient way possible and wants to continue to serve the needs of healthcare in this community.
