It is now believed that the tragic shooting in Dallas was committed by a lone gunman. This contradicts previous reports that two snipers had been involved.
The 25-year-old shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. According to the Dallas Police Department, Johnson’s attack was directed towards white police officers. He killed five Dallas Police Officers, wounded seven more, and wounded two civilians.
After a four-hour standoff, Johnson was killed by police who detonated an explosive attached to a remote-controlled robot.
Contrary to earlier reports, it is now being reported that Johnson was not affiliated with any extremist groups.
