On April 27th, a 14-foot recreational fiberglass boat sank on the Brunswick River during a fishing trip. Of its four occupants, only Marcus Collins survived the ordeal. He was the only man in the boat who was able to put on a life jacket in time. Rescue crews retrieved the bodies of Michael Troup, Rico Scott, and James Fuller. Authorities stated that severe weather conditions caused the boat to take in a large amount of water which led to its capsizing.
